Lightning struck Spotless Stadium during the game between GWS and Sydney. There was a severe thunderstorm during the first quarter and the game was halted and players and umpires were taken off the field. While players were off the field there are images showing that a bolt of lightning hit one of the towers. One of the lightning conductors was discovered in the middle of the ground.
